Search
Find tickets instantly with global search powered by full-text indexing.
Spedy's global search helps you find tickets across your entire workspace in seconds. Search is powered by a full-text index that makes results appear instantly as you type.
How to Search
Open search from anywhere in Spedy by clicking the search bar at the top of the page or pressing one of these shortcuts:
| Keys | What happens |
|---|---|
| ⌘/Ctrl + K | Open the search palette |
| ⌘/Ctrl + S | Open the search palette (alternative, works in every board view too) |
| / | Focus search |
Start typing your query, and results appear instantly as you type.
Search indexes tickets and lets you find them by:
- Title and description
- Ticket ID (like CS-42)
- Comments (non-secret comment content is indexed)
- Assignee name
Understanding Search Results
Search results are displayed in a clean list. Each result shows the ticket ID, title, board name, current status, and priority. Matched keywords are highlighted in the results, so you can see exactly why each item appeared.
Click on any result to go directly to that ticket.
Projects as results
Type a project name or project prefix and a dedicated Projects section appears above the tickets. One click opens the project directly -- faster than scrolling the sidebar. The section only shows up when there are matching projects.
Filtering Results
Narrow down your search results using filters:
- Projects -- limit results to a specific project or set of projects
- Statuses -- limit results to one or more statuses. The filter works organization-wide, so you don't have to pick a project first
- My tickets -- show only tickets assigned to you
- Blocked -- show only tickets that are currently blocked
- Needs approval -- show only tickets waiting for triage/approval
Filters can be combined to create precise queries -- for example, searching for "login" filtered to the "Customer Support" project, status "In Progress", and assigned to you.
Filters are remembered
Your filters stick around even when you close the palette or reload the page -- just like the filters in the Issues Hub. Clear all resets them in one step.
The /search page
For longer research sessions there is a dedicated search page. You reach it from the palette:
- Type your query
- Press Enter -- or click the Show all results for "…" row
On that page, the complete search state lives in the URL: query, projects, statuses, assignee, blocked and approval. Two practical things follow from that:
- Share a search -- click Copy link and send the address on. Whoever opens it sees the same search with the same filters (within their own permissions).
- Load instead of page -- Load more appends further results at the bottom while the existing ones stay in place.
Arrow keys in the palette still open a single result directly -- only Enter takes you to the search page.
Permissions and Privacy
Search results always respect your access permissions. You'll only see tickets from boards you have access to. Content you don't have permission to see will never appear in your search results.
When Search is Unavailable
In the rare case that search is temporarily unavailable, Spedy will let you know with a friendly message. The rest of the platform continues to work normally -- you can still browse your boards, view tickets, and use all other features while search recovers.
